A long journey

At Chris Miller Preston we're proud of our long history of transport and industrial removals in Lancashire and the north west. The family business started with a horse and cart and in it's time has helped move an amazing variety of loads.

We now specialise in

Chris Miller Gang at work

"Gang" work is one of our great strengths. The skilled team working together can really move a lot of equipment - quickly and safely.

We don't just do 'Standard" stuff

Problem solving has always been part of a day's work at Chris Miller Preston.

Conventional wisdom isn't always the answer. Our lateral thinking has often resulted in faster, or cheaper jobs - without compromising quality or safety.

If you'd like to know how we moved over 3500 tons of hydro-electric power station equipment across the country and down a hole not much bigger than the loads, for a fraction of the cost of the conventional method just ask. But have a brew handy - we're very proud of our achievements and the story takes a while to tell.

Checking clearance under an avenue of trees prior to oversize load transport - Not our heaviest days work but it was prettier than some so it made our website.
A fork lift and measuring beam replicate a large load during a test run. It was a custom solution which did a fast and accurate job.

Fame indeed!

It's unusual in our world of heavy haulage and machinery moving to get excited about small vehicles, but we were chuffed when Corgi produced a near replica of a couple of our vehicles. That's how you know you've made it!
